Tips to Surviving 1st Week of College (as a parent)

I am so thankful that Baby Chewy goes to school on campus. Geez, that cuts everything almost in half. However, being in college and being a parent still has its giant challenges.

The biggest one I have faced this semester is the fact I have to drop Baby Chewy off at 9a.m….and this is also when my class starts. Thank goodness some of these professors actually act like you’re an adulty, and talk about these small situations to make them slightly better.  So, now I have a slight acceptance to be able to run from one building to another.

Thankfully, homework isn’t the worst issue ever. Since Baby Chewy is at school for about 5 hours or so, after my classes I can go eat or just sit and do my work, or on the days Big Chewy is there, we sit and have lunch together and he will either help me, or I will get several days’ worth of homework done in a sitting, this way it doesn’t affect my home life.

Starting school can be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be. Make sure where you go will help support and guide you, so that you can give your best. You’ve got this, I believe in you. Do you believe in yourself?
